We are pleased to offer counselling services from Kasey Mahnic, Registered Clinical Social Worker for children, adolescents, and adults.

At Pathways, our dedicated philosophies and clinic-wide approach for supporting ALL individuals utilizes a strengths-based, identity-affirming, and connection-focused framework. We understand that in the pursuit of mental health support, such as counselling, it is important to access a service provider who aims to understand, affirm, accept, and support you.

Kasey has extensive experience in the mental health field and has worked with many different people from all walks of life; however, her passion has always been in the area of neurodivergence. Kasey has spent the entirety of her counselling career working with neurodivergent individuals and their families, and she recognizes and deeply understands the complex struggles and barriers that can come along with trying to navigate a world that doesn't feel like it was made for you. Kasey is particularly sensitive to the stressors and traumas that many neurodivergent people face but may not feel validated and supported with - navigating transitions, friendship and peer difficulties, bullying and isolation, loss of favourite teachers or caregivers, identity shame, childhood embarrassments, and more. You may not even have the words to describe what's going on, or identify what exactly is an issue for you, and that's ok too! For many people seeking mental health counselling, it can be overwhelming trying to find a safe and supportive person with whom you can connect. Kasey's goal is to ensure all people with whom she enters a counselling relationship feel emotionally safe, accepted for who they are, and encouraged to explore their experiences in a way that validates their struggles but also highlights and celebrates their strengths and intrinsic value.

Kasey has experience navigating a wide range of challenges her clients may be experiencing and truly believes there is no "right" or "wrong" way to show up to counselling. Kasey practices from an integrative approach, meaning she adapts her approaches to fit what you need, rather than expecting you to fit into a specific therapy model. Although Kasey specializes in counselling that is neurodiversity-affirming, she is not diagnosis based and is open and able to support anyone. Kasey encourages you to come as you are - all brains, bodies, and identities are welcome!
